Join us at SI this Thursday as we continue our “Unbelievable? Christianity on Trial” series.  The topic this week: hell and suffering.  Bring your friends and your questions.

Join us for week 3 of “Unbelievable? Christianity on Trial” on Thursday.  This week our speaker will be Mr. Rusty Johnson, a science teacher in the Hudson schools.

• May 10: Hell and Suffering…I thought God was good?

The theme for the Real Retreat this year is the least & the last. The idea comes from a parable at the end of Matthew 25 in which Jesus connects the way we treat the broken and hurting people around us with the way we treat Him.  Throughout the course of the weekend, we’ll seek to examine our hearts’ responses to the down and out, and what that says about our own understanding of Jesus and what He has done for us.   We’ll also think about how Christ calls his followers to be marked by compassion.  Join us!  Find out more or register online!

On Monday, July 9th, a group of Parkside middle school and high school students will pack up our things and head to Bedford High School where we’ll be spending the week as part of Cleveland World Changers project. Once there, we’ll be split into work crews and sent to work on houses in and around Cleveland that are in desperate need of some TLC.

Here are a few other details that might come in handy: first, the cost of the trip is $250, but for those who can’t pay this entire amount, we can help you write support letters to cover the cost. Second, we’ll return from the trip on July 14th, so plan accordingly. And finally, there are only a limited number of spots (42), so please sign up ASAP!

After we have received all of the applications, we’ll put together a team and then start to prepare for the summer by having a number of meetings.
