Student Ministry Team
The purpose of the SMT
At the most basic level, we are looking for students who are willing to invest themselves in the lives of other high school students for the sake of the Gospel (1 Thess. 2:8). The SMT exists to make a spiritual difference in the lives of other students by strengthening believers in their faith and exposing unbelievers to Jesus.
Expectations of a SMT member
Being a member of the Student Ministry Team involves:
- Individual spiritual preparation, growing in your own relationship with Christ that you might lead and set an example for others
- Faithful participation in a Student Life Group, Student Impact, Student Body, Parkside Church, SMT meetings, and retreats & activities, that you might have the opportunity to learn and build relationships with your peers
- Faithful participation in at least one school or extracurricular activity, that you might have the opportunity to connect with unbelievers
- Service to the ministry, involving planning, set-up, clean-up, tear down and help
- A teachable attitude that is willing to learn together about how best to minister to your peers
